Jeremiah Smith 1773 – 1843

Jeremiah Smith was born 23 December 1773 in South Carolina. He was the son of Jeremiah Smith Sr. and Jemimah Hollis. Jeremiah married Joanna Dillon on 16 December 1798 in South Carolina. Jeremiah died 1843 in Mississippi.

Jeremiah Smith served in the War of 1812. He was a Sergeant in Nixon’s Regiment, Mounted Riflemen in a detachment of the Militia of MS. He enlisted 15 October 1813 and served till 14 April 1814.
