Edward Kennington was born circa 1715.
Edward Kennington was probably born some time between 1710 and 1720. The name of his wife is unknown as are any daughters he might have had. … it seems likely he had three sons: twins Edward and William and another son named John.[i]
Evidence of his life can be found in South Carolina, beginning with a land record in December 1750. Edward had 150 acres of land on Lick Creek in Craven County.[ii]In October 1759 Edward had a grant for 150 more acres in the same county.[iii]
He remained in South Carolina. In 1778[iv]he was living in the Camden District. In 1780 he was on a jury list that showed him living on the east side of the Wateree River.[v]
The name Edward Kennington appears in South Carolina in 1800 and 1810 but we cannot be certain if this is Edward or his son with the same name. The death date and final resting place for Edward Kennington are unknown at this time.
