Mildred Olga (Brown) Ball, daughter of Jasper Pascal Brown and Rose Ella (Brumfield) Brown, was born 23 June 1904.[i], [ii]She grew up In Pike County, Mississippi where she attended school.[iii],[iv]
On 24 December 1921 she married James Alton Ball [often referred to as Alton Ball], son of James Joseph Ball and Mattie (Dennison) Ball.[v]Mildred was 17 years old and James was 19 years old when they married in Louisiana. They lived on a farm in Washington Parish, Louisiana. By 1930, when Mildred was 25 years old, she was already the mother of four children.[vi]Ten years later she was the mother of nine children, ranging in age from one to 17 years old.[vii]Mildred and James eventually became the parents of ten children: Rave Nell (Ball) Ezell, Donis Bernelda (Ball) Fornea, Doyle Alton Ball, Lacy Lenora (Ball) Strohschein, Lola Mae Ball, Basil Huey Ball, Edith Rose (Ball) Hutchinson, James Paul Ball, Gilbert Renon Ball and Trudy Ann (Ball) McKenzie.[viii]
Mildred died 27 May 1983. She was 78 years old.[ix]
